Putting my Hoover Performer through the surface-litter pick-up test. I used: - Rice and tea-leaves - Cornflakes - Roughly shredded paper It turns out, Hoover were being ironic when they called this model 'Performer'. It's dreadful. It handles the surface litter ok, although it's not as quick as some of the other models I tested. However, it doesn't deep-clean, and as you can see, the 'vortex tube' clogged solid during the paper test! This model was supposed to be an improvement on the original catastrophic Hoover 'The One H.1M' - but to quote Which? Magazine, who tested a similar model to this: 'The One Touch upright vac is a vast improvement on its predecessor, The One, but is still lame on carpet. It's much better at picking up dust from laminate and wooden floors than The One, but we wouldn't recommend it if you have carpet it won't be that much cleaner than when you started. It barely touches pet hair and is poor at retaining allergens.' So...sorry, Hoover, but...FAIL! At least, the new Airvolution range is lightyears ahead of this in almost every way!
